Comfort My Trembling Heart isn't on the CD, but I thought it worth talking about here. This song was the first I had written for community singing for four or five years. The last song was Still Small Voice, and there had been a long period of being silent before God, with literally nothing to say. It was a time of coming to terms with a loving, though largely silent God. we whispered together for a long time. And then a dear friend of my suffered a horrific accident, and I found myself again railing against God, then seeing His love slowly but surely manifest in an altogether unexpected way.

It's not a song everyone can sing, at least for themselves. But there is is always someone we can sing it for, and there has to be a place in our corporate life to admit we don't have the answers.
